Great News: 16.4 Trillion debt ceiling to be hit Dec 31

According to the math whiz that runs the Treasury Department, we will hit the debt ceiling sooner than we expected. Don't worry though through some accounting gimmicks he can make us reach Feb. Maybe.

Some how the guy who couldn't figure out turbo tax can figure out to the day we will run out of money. Something smells fishy here. So at the same time that Obama wants a removal of the Debt Ceiling and at a very least wants a clean increase for the next few years, all of a sudden all those predictions to hit the ceiling come Feb were wrong. You mean to tell me the Federal Government can't add? Shocked I tell you. Shocked!

Well now lets look at the budget and help Turbo Tax Timmy find some more money. All totals from the 2013 proposed budget from Obama.

Shocking News: Social Security Broke!

According to this story from The Blaze, the SSA spent more than 47.8 Billion more than it took in. Nothing there surprising. I mean we already knew that was happening right. How bout this then. When SS was introduced there was 40 workers for every 1 receiving payments. Now that number is down to 1.67 per person receiving benefits.

Now using what my math teacher in High School taught me, tells me that particular equation does not work out.

Gun buy back program in NY is Racist.

Or at least it must be based on previous logic used when talking about Voter ID laws. You see for you to get up to $200 for your semi-auto rifle, which in most cases is quite below market value, you have to be able to produce photo ID for accounting purposes.

How are all those minorities who can't get ID for them to be able to participate in the election process going to be able to all of a sudden get an ID to sell those guns they no longer want? Where oh where is Erik Holder when you need him. This entire operation needs to be shut down and investigated for racisism.

This has to be a joke right? No, No it's not.

I was reading CNN today and I came across an article written on Dec 19 by William Bennett. While the article itself makes plenty of sense, let me show you one small paragraph that shows the level of security academia has placed its students.

To illustrate the absurdity of gun-free zones, Goldberg dug up the advice that gun-free universities offer to its students should a gunman open fire on campus. West Virginia University tells students to "act with physical aggression and throw items at the active shooter." These items could include "student desks, keys, shoes, belts, books, cell phones, iPods, book bags, laptops, pens, pencils, etc." Such "higher education" would be laughable if it weren't true and funded by taxpayer dollars.

No seriously, throw your iPod at the man holding a weapon that fires a projectile a a few hundred miles an hour. Yep, that seems like a fair fight.

These are suppose to be the "smart" people in the room? Seriously? Throw a frickin desk? That's the best you can come up with? Not, Hey, let's not make our students and faculty sitting ducks for the next crazy that comes along. Nope, you just throw your desk and your ball point pen at him and it will be fine. Trust us, we're tenured.

Like I said this would be a joke if it weren't so damn serious.

NYT still trying to white wash Fast and Furious.

An article in the NYT designed to show the public how much better the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms could be if Gun rights groups and Conservatives would just allow them to have more funding and less legal restrictions.

Then they go on to throw one more white wash on the Fast and Furious debacle, I guess just to make sure Obama still knows how much they love him.

Merry Christmas from The Handbook

On this most joyous of days let us slow down and remember the reason we are celebrating today. And it ain't a fat guy on a sleigh.

Merry Christmas all and may the Lord shine his light on all of you.

We allowed this to happen now deal with it.

I have been trying to figure out what I wanted this post to say for a few days. Today it struck me as to what it was that I wanted to say. I have been reading that people think that the Conservative caucus of the Republican House screwed everything up by throwing a "Tantrum" and making sure that Plan B failed. Some people believe that by doing this we are going to be stuck with God knows what kind of deal that is going to screw us over in the long run.

Here's a news flash for you. Plan B was that plan that was going to screw us over, and it wasn't even going to wait for the long run. It was going to screw us over right from the beginning, but people are so afraid of the fiscal cliff that they don't want to believe that. They seem to believe that Congress is actually concerned with doing something that is logical and would actually be a step in the right direction for the country. If that were the case the Sandy relief fund wouldn't be 60 billion with only 11 billion going to Sandy victims and most of the money not being spent until 2015.

Boehner caving and still hates you.

We at The Handbook have often said that we believe that the Republican "Leadership" hates you. I can prove this again. Boehner is caving on everything that Obama wants. Obama has no reason to negotiate because he knows that eventually Boehner will cave and give him more than he ever asked for.

Screw the Fiscal Cliff

Let me start by saying that we should never have been put into this position to begin with. The fact that Congress felt this was a good plan shows just how stupid they really are. Don't worry they tell us though, we're going to fix it before we actually have to enact all of this stuff. Excuse me if I'm not holding my breath.

Concussion prevents Hillary from Testifying... Next Week

That's right. As reported by Fox News recently. Our Secretary of State fainted and hit her head causing a concussion. Plausible that it could happen. Causing her to be so out of it she cannot testify five days away is a bit less.

Not saying there is anything funny going on here. Just sayin its a bit funny that they already canceled her appearance five days away without waiting to see just how long she was affected by it. I understand that concussions can cause extreme discomfort and sensitivity to light and sound, both of which are in excess in a Senate hearing. However, to decide five days away that it isn't going to happen when a professional athlete will wait until the day of them running full speed into other large men in the case of football players before they make that decision, just seems a bit, well, fishy.

Gird your loins the Gun Grabbers are coming!!!

Before we get to the meat of this I would like to say a few things. First is the absence of The Handbook for the last few months. Those of you who have continued to visit us and read our previous musings are greatly appreciated.

Secondly to the families and friends of those affected by the senseless evil attacks on a kindergarten class in CT have our deepest thoughts and prayers. Our minds may never be able to comprehend why or how someone can commit such an atrocity against the most innocent in our society. The concept of dropping my child off at school to never see them again is more than I know I could ever handle. I cannot imagine the pain and suffering that those families are going through right now.

Ryan as VP is a great plan

I realize I haven't been around much this month. Sorry bout that. Trying to move and got a little busy and a few things suffered for it. Don't believe I haven't been thinking about this place though. We still have to stay vigilant and make sure we get Obama on the unemployment line come Nov.

All that out of the way. Congrats to Mitt Romney for not screwing this up. In Paul Ryan you have a man that will destroy Joe Biden in every debate that they have for the VP's provided Obama and Biden are man enough to actually agree to any. Which I still doubt they will agree to any more than 1 or 2 and with this pick I don't believe Obama has enough faith in Biden to go against someone like Paul Ryan and actually not look, well exactly like Joe Biden.

Just in case you forgot Republican Leadership still has no spine.

On Sept 30th the US Government is going to run out of money. How can this happen you ask? Simple a budget hasn't been passed by the US Senate in FOUR (4) years. That's how. Now there is a mad scramble to make sure that a continuing resolution gets passed before then to avert a government shutdown. Why such a rush? It's election season, didn't you get the memo? It's that time of year when nothing of substance can be done (not that it happens any other time either) for the fear of rocking the boat upsetting someone and possibly losing your job.

So Republican leadership is more than happy to negotiate cave to all Democratic demands for a 6 month CR to make sure they don't get any bad press.

Shocking: NYT still skewing polls

NYT and CBS teamed up with Quinnipiac to conduct a poll in OH, FL and PA. Shockingly they managed to make it look like Obama was running away with this election.

Personally I don't know as much about polling skews and weighting and all the crap that comes with polling. The guys over at Hot Air seem to have a pretty good handle on it and from the numbers they show for the polling it shows what my gut instantly knew. That the NYT and CBS made sure this poll came out the way that they wanted.

Is Scalial getting sqeemish on 2nd amendment?

I would argue no, since he has given us no indication that he forgot how to read the constitution, but I would have said that same thing about John Roberts a couple months ago. In an interview with Fox News he talks about possibilities of gun control getting through and in some cases being legal.

Rahm Emanual refuses to be out done; bans Chick-Fil-A from Chicago

I guess the fact that someone ran to the left of him and beat him to the punch only pissed him off so he figured he should get in on the action.

For the same reasons that Boston Mayor doesn't want Chick-Fil-A in his city, Rahm Emanual has decided the same thing. Once again tolerance and acceptance only happens when you share their beliefs. Speak out against the abomination that is gay marriage and get banned from two large cities.

Come out in favor of anti-semitism and you're in though. Those are apparently "Chicago values". That and stealing elections, doing everything to publicly destroy anyone who dares speak out against you, and just plain jackassery.

Glad we got that out of the way. Hadn't heard from him in a while and was beginning to wonder where he went.

Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Nope Voter Fraud doesn't exist. Except when it does.

So the next time you're out there complaining about how the voter ID laws need to pass to protect the sanctity of our election process and some loon tells you that voter fraud is a myth and doesn't happen just send him to Kentucky.

Obama begins pandering to Jews

I will go visit Israel, says Obama, but only if you elect me to a second term. Face it this is pure pandering at its best. He hasn't visited Israel since his campaign, but now claims he will in his second term. It's crap and we know it.

Chavez endorses Obama

And the hits just keep on coming. First Steny Hoyer talks about how the BBA would make it virtually impossible to raise taxes, then Chuch Schumer wants to curtail your first amendment rights, Obama himself comes out and tells every small business owner they would be useless without the government, and now this.

Boston Mayor vows no Chick-Fil-A

So the intolerant left has decided to step out there again and show the world they are only tolerant of those who agree with them. The newest case concerns the fast food restaurant Chick-Fil-A.

The founders of the chain were deeply religious Christians, hence why they are not open on Sundays. They prefer to allow their employees to be afforded the ability to observe the sabbath if they so choose. They have never been sued or accused of discrimination against anyone and yet the Boston Mayor has decided that such a hate filled organization shouldn't be allowed in his town.

This is much better

Michelle Malkin has a story updating at her site. It is much better than anything else youll do today. Just go there and see it.

The unthinkable tragedy in CO

Since in I'm in England I am sometimes a little behind on the news. Especially during the week. The tragedy that struck in CO this week was something that should never happen. When James Holmes opened fire on a Batman movie it was an unspeakable and senseless act that we will never understand.

Aurora theater shooter James Holmes

How did this 24 year old grow up and decide that taking 12 innocent lives including a 6 year old  little girl for who knows what reason we will probably never really understand. I'm not sure that the human mind and psyche can understand and comprehend why people are driven to do things like this.

This type of crazed taking of life hurts the soul and makes you feel deeply for the families. A lot of people begin to come to terms with it by offering prayers and in some cases donations for the victims and their families.

Then there are some people who "never let a crisis go to waste."

Political Correctness responsible for 13 deaths.

You read that right. Being PC so you don't offend anyone actually resulted in 13 people dying. On top of the 32 others that were injured. Don't believe me? It happened in 2009. You might have heard about it. Some muslim officer in the Army went batshit crazy and killed some people at Ft. Hood. Maj. Nadal Hassan right a bell?

That's right. Now you remember. But whats this all about PC crap? Didn't the man with the gun kill them?

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Dems have once again lost their minds.

First it was Steny Hoyer coming out and giving the Balanced Budget Amendment the greatest endorsement anyone could have ever dreamed about when he said that it would make it virtually impossible to raise taxes. Now Chuck Schumer wants to limit your 1st Amendment rights.

Yeah, and they are the smart party right?

Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II Honored by Poland

A new statue of President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II that was unveiled in Gdansk, Poland, on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Both late leaders are highly reveared in Poland for their role in helping to topple communism.

In a complete opposite of the reaction he got in the home he actually lived and governed in for 8 years by his own countrymen, Ronald Reagan was given a statue with Pope John Paul II. Best part about this is that it is in none other than Ronald Reagan Park.

Funny how the people who were truly freed by two great men seem to remember and honor them a lot better than a bunch of brain dead homos who seem to believe that he caused AIDS.

Yeah I said it.

Turns out that this entire thing was paid for by Solidarity Members who some spent time in prison for their active workings against the Communist Regime.

Obama's bad month spills into July

I'm sure that once SCOTUS ruled in his favor on Obamacare, Obama likely thought he was out of the woods for a continuing headache. Turns out he was wrong. In Florida, likely a very important swing state, Obama and Holder just suffered a serious setback.

A judge recently ruled that Florida was completely within its rights to purge voter rolls of people who should not be there, you know illegal immigrants, and convicted felons, and in some cases dogs. Obama, Holder and Napolitano didn't like that plan. They actually hated that plan and sued to stop it. Then they lost. Now they have given up.

Tax plans will create NO growth.

The Democrats have circulated a tax plan that would cover the next year to see if they can get enough votes to get it passed. They are basically keeping the current tax rates (I refuse to call them tax cuts, since they have been the rates for 10 years) for everyone below 200,000 or 250,000 for families.

Republicans are no better, as they only want to extend the current rates for everyone for another year. Then the promise with a pledge they will absolutely do something in 2013. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Dissension among the Union Ranks

Everyone knows that all of the members of every union will not agree on everything the union does. It is no different than that of a normal grouping of random people, because of this differing views are prevalent. Take for instance the amount of money spent by unions on politics. Not every union member agrees that Democrats are the only way to go. That doesn't matter to the unions though, because the "leadership" thinks that Democrats are the only way to vote. Take into account that in some states workers are denied the most basic right of free choice and are forced to join unions and sometimes you are going to have problems. Unions are typically good at keeping those problems quiet though.

Today is not one of those days, however.

Obama wants to let UN take away your gun rights.

The UN is right now, negotiating a treaty called the Arms Trade Treaty. This is a treaty that the Bush administration had refused to even be a part of the negotiations on. Barack Obama, however, decided that negotiating with a bunch of crack heads that hate the US is a good policy plan. If this treaty were to pass it would open up private gun ownership records of American citizens to such trustworthy foreign governments as Iran.

But I'm sure that our government would never allow our 2nd Amendment rights to be trampled. Right?

Gun turn in program. The law of unintended consequences.

While perusing the news today when I got home from work I found something that made me smile so I figured I would share it with you. In Chicago they have a gun buy back program where they will give you money for your gun in the form of a visa debit card. By using American Ingenuity and causing everyone to laugh at the people who actually thought criminals would turn in their guns for a couple hundred bucks, a pro-gun group has used the money they got for selling broken guns back to the city to host a youth shooting camp.

That's right, they sold old busted guns one of which was held together with duck tape, literally, and used the funds for an NRA sponsored event to teach kids about the joys of shooting and the safety precautions and safe handling of firearms.

Wonder what Rahm Emanuel thinks of this?

Great News: 11% of all unemployment payments are fraudulent

From Hot Air today.

Amazing simply amazing. We extend out unemployment benefits to 99 weeks and what does that allow? It allows even more time for people to defraud the government before they have to find a new way to do it. 14 Billion in payments made last year were illegal. That's just wonderful.

Obama doubles down on class warfare

Obama has decided that vilifying the rich is the best way to win an election. This we all knew already. But now with a horrible jobs report, and anemic growth at best in the economy, he has decided that now is the time to double down on his call to end the Bush tax rates.

That is misleading though. Throughout the media they keep calling it the "Bush era tax rates". These have been the tax rates for a decade now. How long until they become just the current tax rates? Oh wait that's right, if he says that it shows that he is once again raising taxes on the American people.

Fewer Young Gun Republicans signing the Anti-Tax Pledge

I was reading Redstate today on an article about possibly needing a third party. Relax they weren't calling for one they were just stating that one may come about from the crap that we are receiving from the current Republican party.

On that point I happen to agree with him. While the concept of a third party may work in some respects when it comes to congressional races, if and only if the third party can win, mostly all it would do is split the conservative vote and ensure that Dems would take over complete power. This is especially true when it comes to Presidential elections. For my first exhibit in that regard I give you Ross Perot.

What really got me was a small nugget down at the bottom that caught my eye.
By the way, this year fewer and fewer Republican candidates are signing the tax pledge on the advice of Republican members of Congress. This is another warning sign that the Eric Cantor led Republican conference is going far afield from what those who vote Republican actually want.

100 million spent = 0 jobs created

We all know about Solyndra and the 535 million dollar boondoggle that was. Now comes news that another waste of close to 100 million of our tax dollars. Yep still part of the "green energy investment" that Obama is so fond of.

Nevada Geothermal Power, who as you can imagine received strong endorsements from Harry Reid, is about to go bankrupt. He claimed it would create jobs in Nevada and all we had to do was secure a 98.5 million dollar loan for them. Well we did and the total number of jobs created comes to.... 0. That's right. Nothing, not one job created. This would be funny if it weren't so sad.

Paul Ryan Confident in Repeal of Obamacare

I wish I could share his confidence during his interview with Breitbart. However I don't believe for a minute that Mitch McConnell or John Boehner have any kind of back bone to pull it off. I think Boehner can be forced into the vote by the actual adults in the room in the House but the Senate I fear is a lost cause.

Reid will never allow McConnell to bring the bill forward and, McConnell will fold like the cheap suit he is just so he doesn't upset the apple cart. Remember it was McConnell who killed Senator Jim Demint's bill to force the entirety of the Obamacare bill to be read on the Senate floor before it could be voted on. I guess he wanted to wait until he passed it to see what was in it.

Romney sets GOP record, raises 100 million in June alone.

Add that to the 77 million that he took in back in May and you have what is shaping up to be very interesting. Obama and his celebrity friends haven't been able to out gain Mitt since he got he nomination. Now with SCOTUS rallying the base in a way that I don't think Mittens ever could on his own, we are setting up for more whining from Obama.

My how times have changed.

Bobby Jindal is a frickin genius.

Being from Louisiana originally I have followed Bobby Jindal since he broke onto the stage to win the Governorship of the state. I have been extremely impressed with his ability to get to the point of the problem and actually make reforms that are conservative and smart, and then find the political muscle to get them passed. He has managed to get teacher pay reformed in Louisiana, brought school choice to the state, remained a thorn in Obama's eye throughout the drilling moratorium in the Gulf of Mexico, and was one of the first to announce that he refused to expand Medicaid after the SCOTUS ruling.

But now he has shown the world why Mitt Romney needs to seriously consider him for the bottom half of the ticket.

Happy 4th to everyone from The Handbook

On this the birth day of our great nation I would like to wish each of you a great 4th of July and hope you celebrate it in style.

Take the day off, after all I am, enjoy some festivities spend time with your family, and remember the reason we celebrate today.

236 years ago we threw off the shackles of a monarchy in hopes of creating a better nation. It always has been and will always be a fight to keep this nation great. So like I said. Take some time, enjoy the day and hit hard Tommorrow.

ICE agent Shot near Mexican Border

ICE agent Kelton Harrison, was shot twice in the abdomen Tuesday morning near Hidalgo County, TX. In a revelation that shocks no one it is a known drug trafficking route.

He is currently in stable condition as reported by Fox News. Apparently he was shot while driving an unmarked SUV off-road. Some shell casings were recovered and there is a belief that there were two shooters.

Everyone Pray for a speedy recovery.

Handbook question: Known drug trafficking route? Any chance one of those 2000 Fast and Furious guns have struck again?

Texas Law doing its job.

Seriously this is good news. The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the number of criminals killed under the "Stand your Ground Law" has increased since the law was expanded in 2007. Ladies and Gentlemen that is the result of a law doing it's job.

As more criminals are removed from the gene pool by force and not allowed to use the courts to pacify and coddle them there will be fewer of them to worry about.

July 4th Fireworks cancelled because birds could be scared.

In a headline that makes you go wtf? Fox News is reporting via The Oregonian that the July 4th fireworks display in the town of Depoe Bay has been canceled because some birds could get scared.

No seriously.

Romney says Obamacare not a Tax and McConnel already squirming his way out of repeal.

Romney's problem stems from the fact that if he goes after Obamacare, Obama will come after him about Romneycare in Mass. So in an effort to try to walk a very fine line and not piss anyone off, he instead pisses everyone off. Well everyone that matters anyway.

McConnells problem is the same as John Boehner's, he has no spine, none, the man is a damn jellyfish. If he had a spine, we wouldn't even have Obamacare, and the debt ceiling debacle would have ended completely differently. If Boehner had a spine we wouldn't have had the Transportation-HUD bill pass recently as a combination bill so that he could get on vacation.

Republicans hate you slightly less than Obama

Alternate headline: Republicans still don't have a backbone. Personally I liked the one I put up there, and since I write the damn thing I'll do what I want.

Now on to the actual point of this post. the 2013 Transportation - HUD conglomeration of bills that should have all been voted on individually, passed while reducing the total cost by 3.9 billion less than last year. Good news right? Well since we spent 3.6 trillion last year, and only took in 2.3 trillion that means we saved .003% of our deficit last year. That means we only have 99.997% left to find, just to break even. Or to put it in a number that you understand, we only need to find $1,296,100,000,000 more of wasteful spending in the budget right?

Don't Forget Al Qaeda sill wants to kill you.

And not in the Ahmed the puppet "I kill you" funny way either. I mean they really want you to die. Why won't you just die you damn infidel?

In their latest attempt to end your life, they are again trying to blow up planes. According to the New York Post a Norwegian named Muslim Abu Abdurrahman, who was converted and radicalized in 2008 was selected to attempt in the glorious fashion that the underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried back in 2009. Actually I have no idea if he was going to place the bomb in his underwear.

More Begging from Barack Obama

So I signed up a while back to receive all the Obama for America stuff. Mostly because I find it humorous to read. Then I realized that this stuff is comedic gold. Take for instance the latest message I got yesterday from Barack Obama himself.

I wonder if he actually took the time to write this out in his personal email account? Maybe that's what he does on all those flights on Air Force One.

Is it a Tax or a Penalty?

Since the courts upheld the mandate on the basis that it is within the purview of Congress thanks to the power to tax, the Obama administration has a small problem on their hands. Yes, they got the win they wanted from the Supreme Court, but they got it in probably what was the worst possible outcome for them.

They now have to try to convince the American people that the Individual Mandate is still a penalty, even though the courts say the only way it is legal is if it is a tax.

What to do, what to do?

DOJ won't prosecute Holder

In a move to surprise no one. The DOJ has exerted it's privilege to not bring their boss before a Grand Jury and force him to face the charges of lying to Congress. Since Obama implemented Executive Privilege on the documents for Fast and Furious, Deputy Attorney General James Cole has said that no laws were broken.

An amazing letter to the GOP

This is exactly what should happen. We all know it won't as I said earlier the GOP is missing their... ummm.. spine.. but sure would be fun to watch Obama's face as the bill is presented and signed to repeal is legacy right there in front of him. In fact if they every do surprise me and actually repeal it they should invite Obama to the signing ceremony.

Here is the link to the letter at Ace of Spades.

Should we trust Romney, Boehner and McConnel?

The results are in, Romney is the winner from the SCOTUS decision on Obamacare, or at least his campaign war chest is. Romney and the RNC raised 4.6 million in the hours after the decision was announced from approximately 47,000 donors. That's a lot of extra cheddar to be hanging around all of a sudden to beat Obama over the head with.

I still believe that SCOTUS got it wrong on Obamacare. It was never sold, or supposedly intended to be a "tax" however that's what the government now has. The unfettered unlimited ability to do whatever they want and call it a penalty collected by the IRS and suddenly it's Constitutional.

Holder voted in Contempt what to do now

So I said last night that it was basically a foregone conclusion that Holder was going to be struck with a contempt citation from the House yesterday. Of course I also wrote about how happy I was going to be when I found out that SCOTUS did the only logical thing and stuck down Obamacare in its entirety.

So after SCOTUS crushed my dreams of reining in federal power I actually got a little nervous about the contempt proceedings. Not because I didn't think the votes were there, but because I didn't actually trust John Boehner to actually do something that took some kind of backbone.

Although having 17 Dems vote with him probably made it a little bit easier for his spineless soul to allow it to happen though.

Thursday, June 28, 2012

CBC planning walk out during Holder's contempt vote.

In a move reminiscent of the weak minded union paid for idiots that were Democrat Reps in WI while Scott Walker tried to pass his budget reforms the Congressional Black Caucus is planning to walk out.

So the Black Caucus in a show of stupidity solidarity, will walk out to make sure the vote can't go through I assume. Of course their stated reasoning for doing this is well a bit absurd.

House Vote on Contempt Charges scheduled for 5 pm

Unfortunately since I am in England, and actually have to you know, work for a living, I will probably be asleep or close to it by the time that vote happens. Especially since votes in Congress rarely happen at their exact scheduled time.

We shall see though. It is almost a forgone conclusion that Holder will be found in Contempt this afternoon. That just raises the question of what exactly does that mean.

Someone has to bring the actual criminal charges against him in front of a Grand Jury. Since the District Attorney for D.C. Ronald Machen has to actually bring the charges. Problem is Holder is his boss. Fox News asks the question can Holder just use prosecutorial  discretion since technically the DOJ has to bring the charges against the head of the DOJ and not prosecute himself?

If he could/did do that how bad would the fallout be?

The portion of the Ruling on Obamacare that crushes your soul.

After reading the decision to ruin our country and give the government unfettered access to every part and decision of our lives I thought I would show the actual part of the decision that basically crapped on the constitution.

Here ya go.. Thanks again there Robers.

Mandate Upheld, Government power now uncontrollable

I had a post all ready about how we had beaten back the leviathan and were one step closer to actually limiting the power of government. So much for that. Thanks there CJ Roberts. To think that he sided with the 4 liberal justices and that Kennedy wrote the dissenting opinion and actually made sure to state that this entire bill was a farce is well depressing.

We had a chance, we had a court that I was positive would see that this was a complete over reach of government and slap them back. So much for Obama Slap-Down Day™.

We're all wrong on Fast and Furious

That's right ladies and gentlemen, after a year and a half of investigating we finally learned the truth about Fast and Furious. Turns out, there was nothing evil there, it was just ATF agents that were hamstrung by gun fanatical prosecutors that refused to prosecute straw purchasers. Why? Because the penalties weren't harsh enough and it wasn't worth the time.

Bloomberg has a very sensitive.. ummm... body.

In order to not violate his own law that he passed to save the world from whatever it is libs are trying to save us from this week Mayor Bloomberg has come up with a very ingenious way of making sure he never has to get into a hot car.

Another Dem crosses the aisle against Holder. Updated

Its slow out there today. Nothing much going on, everything and everybody waiting until tomorrow for Obama Slap-Down Day™. But on that note I did find something that will make Obama's night that much worse. How much Tums do you think he's chewing right now?

Anyway after Jim Matheson (D) of Utah said publicly that he was going to vote in favor of contempt for Eric Holder, comes another blow to Obama and his band of criminal lackies.

Rep. John Barrow (D-GA) has now come out publicly with intent to make history.

Issa to Obama: You're a Liar or a Criminal, which one is it?

So according to the letter that Darrel Issa sent to Barack Obama, Obama is either a liar or a criminal. Issa notes that either Obama is lying about no one in the upper echelons of the Executive branch being part of Fast and Furious or he is obstructing a Congressional investigation. Either way it would appear that they will not be trading Christmas cards this year.

Contempt vote for Holder on Thurs?

Apparently according to some Republican aides. Right now the vote is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, which could mean a couple things. Allapundit at Hot Air thinks that John Boehner and his spineless friends are trying to lessen the impact of the vote against Holder.

I can see that. But I also have another idea.

Mother gets bill for cleanup after illegal immigrant kill her son.

Anna Gonzalez an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT living in this country for 12 years decided that since she was already violating federal law by being here, and presumably working, would go ahead and up the ante. So she decided to get liquored up and kill someone while she was driving.

But wait it gets better.

Obamacare to be struck down on Thursday

Best part is that SCOTUSBlog the opinion is being written by Chief Justice Roberts and possibly co-authored by Justice Kennedy. This is a good sign. This means at a minimum the mandate went down. Personally I don't see any of the law standing but stranger things have happened.

As most of you know I am currently in England because of that I get to actually see a single payer healthcare system in operation. I also get to hear opinions on these things from the Brits who actually have to live this.

Issa Finally Understand the point of Fast and Furious

For months now we have heard about how Fast and Furious was nothing more than a botched attempt at continuing a program that was started and subsequently shut down by the Bush Administration in Operation Wide Receiver. The biggest difference in the two was that Wide Receiver was done with Mexican co-operation and actually, you know, interdicted the guns before they could get lost.

Fast and Furious on the other hand was nothing more than pure political theater and they know it.

New reason to challenge your 2nd amendment rights.. Wildfires

According to the Governor of Utah people shooting guns has been responsible for 20 of the wildfires in Utah this year and were responsible for 24 wildfires last year. This causes problems for the Governor because he is restricted by Federal and State laws along with recent rulings from SCOTUS that he can't issue an emergency ban on people using firearms.

There is also that pesky thing called the Constitution, but he never mentions that.

White House preparing to be slapped down by SCOTUS.

Valerie Jarret told the National Association of Black Journalists in New Orleans Saturday that the White House is prepared for the ruling from SCOTUS. Then went on to prove that they know they are about to get smacked down by blaming the GOP for having the policy of "NO".

So we're still going to use that slogan uhn? I mean the constant budgets that were passed by the house, controlled by the GOP, made you think it is the party of no? The constant bills coming out of the House that actually push things that would create jobs, such as Keystone XL are the reason that we still have unemployment above 8% and a 16 trillion dollar debt right?

TSA = The Stupidest Available

In a development that will surprise absolutely nobody, the TSA managed to screw up again. This time Alija Abdul Majed, a TSA screener at JFK worked most of his morning shift and never got a single hit on his metal detector. Not once did he wonder about the odds that it would take for thousands of people to stream through his terminal and never miss anything in their pockets. Turns out the odds were not in his favor, the problem was his metal detector wasn't turned on.

Why wasn't it turned on you ask? Because it wasn't even plugged in. Still feel safe?

Woman sues 11 yr old over baseball,

I found a story on Fox News that basically told me everything that is wrong with this country today. No one is willing to accept their own problems. Everything is somebody elses fault.

Case in point a New Jersey woman is suing a 13 yr old boy for something that happened when he was 11. What happened you ask? Did he burn her house down, wreck her car, destroy her wedding day? Nope, she was sitting next to the bull pen where he was warming up another pitcher for his team. Shockingly an 11 year old wasn't the most accurate with one throw that sailed on him and hit the woman in the face. Now she's suing for $150,000 plus pain and suffering.

Obama's gay parade in the WH gives Reagan the finger.

As most of you know I revere the memory and accomplishments of the man who had to fix Jimmy Carters attempted destruction of America and bring down the Soviet Union at the same time. So to see this today just well angered me beyond words.

Cellulosic Ethanol in your car this year!!

Or at least that's what the EPA has mandated. Well they mandated it back in 2005 because they, in their typical government alter-reality, believed that mandating some new product would magically make it appear. Problem is of the 500 million gallons that are required to be used this year there are.... 0 gallons available. That's right. None, zip, zilch, nada. There is not a single gallon in existence to be used in commercial applications. There is as much of this stuff out there to put in to your car as there is unicorns to harvest farts from.

Nancy Pelosi goes off and acts like.. well.. Nancy Pelosi

So I wasn't going to say anything her crap today, because well talking about her makes me feel like I'm losing brain cells. Then again maybe that's what finally happened to her, the last 3 useful brain cells she had finally died. That's the only explanation that I can come up with for the earlier stuff that came out about how she claimed to have the power to arrest Karl Rove at any point she saw him in the Capital and put him in some jail inside the Capital that no one else knows about, which was well delusional to say the least.

Now she's claiming that she knows that the GOP is only going after Eric Holder because he is trying to stop the GOP from suppressing voters. Wait, what?

Sex Predators can't hide on Facebook in LA

The state of LA just passed a law that makes it a requirement for all sex offenders and child predators to identify themselves as such on their social media pages.

The law is intended to inform the public just like when a sexual predator moves into a neighborhood and has to identify themselves at that point. Personally I like the law. Of course I also believe that they should have to live with large billboards in their yards showing their face and screaming to the world that they are sexual predators, and well I don't think they should ever be allowed to see the light of day after they are caught but until someone makes that law at least we're moving in the right direction.

From Fox News:

A new Louisiana law requires convicted sex offenders and child predators to reveal their status on social media websites.
Having failed to ban such offenders from websites like Facebook and Google+, state lawmakers instead decided sex offenders should be required to notify the online community of their presence the same way they must notify a neighborhood when they move in, WWL radio reported.
"In today's society, people come into our homes via the Internet, whether it's Facebook or Pinterest or Instagram," GOP Rep. Jeff Thompson said. "We should have the same information available."
If offenders fail to abide by the law, they face up to 10 years in prison.
"This provides prosecutors with another tool to make sure that those people which intend harm to our children are going to face the consequences," Thompson said.

Handbook question #1: Any chance Facebook adds a "Sexual Predator" option on your information page?

Handbook question #2: How long until the ACLU challenges this in court claiming a violation of personal rights of felons?

AG Holder Found in Contempt

Now the question becomes can Boehner keep his spine long enough to let the floor vote happen next week? I give it 50/50.

With the stonewalling finally reaching a boiling point after Congress finally tired of asking Holder and the DOJ to produce the documents relating to Fast and Furious they finally got the contempt vote completed this afternoon. Personally this should have happened about 5 minutes after he blatantly lied to Congress months ago, but I guess better late than never.

So how does this hurt Obama, can this be tied around his neck like an anchor? When does the process start with the courts to remove the Executive Privilege claim?

So much more to come.

New slogan for Obama this year:

Obama 2012, you don't need to know.

Finally!!! Obama calls for transparency.

When it comes to the names of the donors of Crossroads GPS. So when it's someone else that is trying to a favor to the country and make sure that Obama is not re-elected, well those people need to be completely transparent.

Of course he hasn't called for Priorities USA, the non-profit set up to help Obama get re-elected, to disclose their donors. That could be because they don't have as many donors as they hoped for.

Once again it's all political. Just like this morning. If Obama didn't have any kind of part or knowledge of Fast and Furious why would he exert Executive Privilege?

Oh yeah because when his AG gets cited for Contempt of Congress, it will probably not be the best re-election speech to hang your hat on. The booming economy we have had under him will be much better. Oh wait.

Read the story in the WSJ here.

Obama Exerts Executive Privilege on F&F Docs.. Move along, Nothing to see here.

I saw the breaking news while I was at work this afternoon. (I'm in England, remember.) Obama had granted Holder's request for Executive privilege on the 2300 pages that the House Oversight committee had been asking for since well forever.

Since Holder's power point presentation didn't sway over Issa last night, and the vote for contempt was still going forward today Holder went begging to his boss for a favor. A favor Obama was more than willing to issue. Because of this Congress now has to contest Executive Privilege on all these documents so that we can find out just how deep into this Eric Holder or other members of the DOJ were involved.

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Shocking. Holder still wont comply with supena.

In a turn of events that will surprise no one, Erick Holder still has not sent Issa the documents that were requested.
Issa made it clear that he doesn't care about meeting with him he only wants the documents.
The fact that the DOJ refuses to produce the documents related to the death of a federal agent while being threatened with contempt charges speaks volumes.
Bring on the vote.

New thing to do in Wal Mart... Make Meth

No seriously, you can apparently make Meth while you shop in Wal Mart. No more dangerous drug deals on corners, no more blowing up your house. Do it right there in the store. Or at least that's what James Richardson was trying to do.

Will Issa cave on Fast and Furious?

Getting home from work today, I began perusing the interwebs of news to see what I missed while I was at work. What I found wasn't completely new but it did give some more information that quite frankly pissed me off, even though it shouldn't have, I should have seen it coming.

Reports are out that Issa will meet with Holder tonight in an attempt by Holder to stop from being cited for contempt and then hopefully fired along with his boss. That in and of itself doesn't piss me off what does is this small sentence of the story

Great News: McCain wants to revist Campaign Finance Reform

The lefts favorite Republican was at it again on Sunday. While on Meet the Press he told everyone just what he thought of the Citizens United decision from the Supreme Court.

"I think there will be scandals as associated with the worst decision of the Supreme Court in the 21st Century — uninformed, arrogant, naive," McCain said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Yep, because he has shown the brilliance of being able to figure out how campaign finance should work. Maybe he should sponsor a bill in the Senate or something. Oh wait, you say he already did?

Even Obamas Professors have turned on him

One of the Professors that taught Barry Obama at Harvard has come out with a Youtube video that calls for "The One" to be defeated in Nov. But not for the reasons you might think. Well some of the reasons you might think.

This is the same guy who said he was never "friends" with Obama even though he talked to him throughout his campaign. He claimed that he didn't want to get to close because his leftist ideas could cause Obama harm.
Seriously how much farther left can you get than Obama?

Dems with no Public Unions Fail, in other news water is wet.

On Fox News today Chris Stirewalt wrote an article that basically said out loud what everyone already knew. Dems can never survive without Unions and primarily PEU's. Why? Because as the article says its a vicious cycle:

The cycle for five decades has been that unions support the campaigns of Democrats who promise to expand the power of unions. Thus empowered, the unions have more money with which to elect more Democrats who further expand union powers. And so it goes.

Happy Fathers Day from The Handbook

To all the fathers out there The Handbook would like to tell you to enjoy your fathers day.

Congrats to Aaron Walker

Just read on Michelle Malkin that the charges against Aaron Walker that were brought on by convicted bomber/terrorist/regular useless waste of skin Brett Kimberlin have been dropped.

This is a win for the First Amendment and for the country as a whole.

Just for your enjoyment

Here at The Handbook we have always wondered what will become of all of us once the zombie apocalypse actually happens.  Since the CDC just released an actual press release stating that we have no reason to worry about a zombie apocalypse it only gives us more reason to actually believe on is on the horizon. But have no fear as reported in Fox News you can go to an adults only camp that will teach you... wait for it... How to survive the zombie apocalypse.

That's right for $425 for the weekend NRA qualified instructors will teach you about guns, crossbows and how to hot wire a car.

God this is a great country.

Visit the actual zombie camp site here.

DREAM ACT by executive fiat.

Let's be honest, with this petulant ass as POTUS we knew that this was going to come to a head eventually. He couldn't get the DREAM Act passed through Congress, and Latino's were actually starting to get on him about his actual enforcement of immigration laws. No, he wasn't shutting down sanctuary cities, or enforcing employers to verify immigration status, or telling the DOJ to back off of AZ or AL. Nope just deporting the ones that are dumb enough to get caught by an immigration agency that has been basically told to look the other way no matter what.

Reagan's 25th Anniversary of the Brandenburg Gate Speech.

"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

On the anniversary of one of the greatest speeches ever given by one of the greatest Presidents we were ever smart enough to elect. Everyone just sit back and enjoy some real Hope and Change from the man who could really bring it.

If you couldn't tell, Yes I am a bit of a Reagan fan.

Even the Brits understand how much better Reagan was for the world than Barack "Citizen of the World" Obama.

Dems begining to realize Obama doesn't like them either.

Well maybe not liking them is too strong of a term, not willing to help, doesn't care if they win or lose, thinks of all of them as beneath him might be better ways to describe it. Since his election in 2008 he hasn't exactly been willing to get out there and get his hands dirty getting other dems elected. Apparently after almost 4 years they finally learned what the rest of us already knew, he's only in it for himself.

Fox News talks about his disassociation with Tom Barret in WI. The fact that he could attend 6 fundraisers in MI and IL, causing him to fly over WI in the last days before the election, and not even stopping. To at least act like he cared if the rest of his party actually did anything. I wonder if he gave Barret the finger as he flew over?

Further down that article they mention that the magic number is 39, as in 39%.

-- Decline in the median net worth of American families since 2009 – from $126,400 to $77,300 – according to a new report from the Federal Reserve. The drop set the nation back two decades in wealth accumulation.

So while me and you are losing 39% or more of our net worth what is he out doing? Well what he does best, fundraising. For the last, well since he got elected, he has been campaigning to get re-elected. I don't think he ever stopped long enough to figure out what it actually means to be President and try to actually, you know, run the government.

Then again if he is this bad just winging it and being distracted all the time, I really don't want to know what kind of crap he would try to get passed if he was actually paying attention. But don't worry you can always win a dinner with him and Sara Jessica Parker.

So would anyone be in favor of a law that makes it illegal to use bill the tax payers for the transportation if the President gives a "policy speech" then goes to a fundraiser. Shouldn't the campaign have to pay for the trip if ANY part of the trip is going to be for campaign purposes. At least then he would have to admit that all this traveling is simply for his attempt at re-election.
Then again always remember this man hates you. Not in the general sense, I'm talking in the you kicked his dog and stole his girlfriend can't stand your mere existence hates you.

Mitch Daniels asks why we need PEU's

Just a few days ago I asked the question of why we have PEU's. I got some feedback from some other places that I posted it but no one still really answered the question for me. The answers I got were basically about preventing abuses foisted upon defenseless workers. But when the government is the boss well that makes no sense since every private union turns to government to correct issues they believe are unfair.

Well now someone with a slightly larger base than The Handbook, meaning at least 4 people will listen to him, has asked the same question. Mitch Daniels made the rounds on Sunday asking basically the same question.

You can read Hot Air's take on this question here.

So anyone think Mitch Daniels reads The Handbook to get his ideas? Yeah me neither.

SWATting and the letter to Holder

Eric Erickson at Redstate has put up some more information about the SWATting that happened to him. Luckily no one was injured and the police realized they had been sent on a wild goose chase. He's not the first one to have it happen to him.

Contained in the post is a letter written by Rep Saxby Chambliss and signed by 80 members of congress, sent to Eric Holder to try to get him to do his job. Of course after today's news he might not be very receptive to anything anyone with an (R) after their name requests.

Michelle Malkin talks about it here. And Allergic to Bull writer Aaron Walker has multiple detailed posts about how his life has been affected on multiple fronts at his site. Just visit it, will ya.

Notice at the top there is a link to donate to the defense fund of everyone that has been targeted by a convicted bomber and terrorist, Brett Kimberlin, that shouldn't even be free. So if you feel inclined give the people that are truly fighting for first amendment rights some help.

June shaping as a HORRIBLE month for Obama

Today we find out via Sheryl Atkinson of CBS News that Issa is filing for contempt charges against Holder as soon as next week. Our only question is, what the hell took so long? Holder has been stonewalling and basically useless as a witness, obviously contemptuous of Congress's attempt at oversight of the DOJ and just really confirmed what everyone already knew about anyone associated with Obama. It's always about the politics, and accepting personal responsibility for their own actions is incomprehensible.

The email begging for money for Obama

So a long time ago The Handbook signed up for the Obama email mailing letter, cause well frankly I wanted to see what kind of crap they sent out to try to get money from people, yesterday one came in that talking about how Romney out gained him last month. This is the first time since 2007 that the Messiah has been beaten by an opponent at fundraising. Needless to say they are not happy about this.

Good News! DOJ to investigate security leaks. Updated

Eric Holder has identified two U.S. attorneys to investigate where the recent surge in classified leaks came from. Ronald Machen,US attorney for DC, and Rod Rosenstein, US attorney for Maryland, will lead up the two separate investigations being run by the FBI.

Now let me save everyone some time and money. Start the investigation at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. That's where they came from. John McCain who rarely gets anything right seems to get it. Or at least he did when he was talking to Anderson Cooper

Video here.

So let's see, the same DOJ that won't prosecute the new black panther party for voter intimidation, because as Holder put it, those are "His people". The same DOJ that refuses to come clean on Fast and Furious, the same DOJ that is suing the state of FL for trying to get dead people off the voter rolls. These are the people that are going to "..doggedly follow the facts and the evidence in pursuit of justice wherever it leads."

Lets see checking the actual handbook for democrat reactions to scandals.. and yep.. odds of this investigation just slowly dying away due to unwillingness to follow it to where it should go. We at The Handbook have it somewhere north of 75%. Chances some low level scapegoat who didn't have access to the information but gets blamed anyway, well some where near 80%.

But that's just my opinion. Realistic odds of anyone ever being charged much less convicted? Somewhere south of 0.

Update: Sorry remember Handbook central is in England currently, and as such I usually get things late, or never at all, that being said I just read this post on Hot Air about how the White House is rejecting calls for an independent investigator or a Congressional investigation. Yep, definitely transparency in action right there.

Oh and we offend Obama by insinuating that the White House is the source of the leaks. Cause he would never do something like that to make himself look better.

Why do we have PEU's?

So with everything that just went down in WI and Scott Walker laying the beat down the way he did, I started to wonder why exactly are federal employees allowed to unionize? I understand the concept that some people believe that unions protect the worker, personally I think that's absolute crap, but some people out there still believe that Social Security will be there for them when they get old.

So I pulled EO 10988 signed by JFK on 17 Jan 1962 which basically gave public employees the ability to unionize. Why he signed this I personally don't know. Maybe he thought it was a good plan, maybe as one writer in the LA Times put it here that Scott Walker should look to Ronald Reagan for advice on how to not anger unions.

I believe we are looking at two separate times. Not just two different years but two completely different landscapes. I may be wrong but I don't believe that unions had acquired the foothold into politics that they have now with the democratic party or maybe it's just nostalgia on my part thinking that things were just simpler at that time.

In that article the writer claims that JFK signed that EO so to blunt the upcoming vote in Congress on a bill that would allow federal employees to unionize and give them more rights than what he felt they should have. Here is my question though, what was so bad about a federal job at the time that required employees to unionize in the first place? Or was it as I believe that Democrats saw a chance to create a brand new revenue stream that would always be in their corner since they allowed it to happen?

As that article even admits this was the dam breaking that allowed states, cities, and municipalities to begin to offer the ability of their employees to unionize. So thanks JFK for creating a parasite on the budget of every level of government throughout the country.

My real question though is this. If government is so good, and government and government alone knows how workers should be treated and what is fair, why did the unions need to exist in the first place?

In 2010 alone fewer than 1 million of the nations 3.5 million federal employees were unionized. Total with all federal, state, and local employees who were unionized fell to 36% in 2010. That was a drop of around 1% from 2009.

Per the Washington Post

About 984,000 of the federal government's 3.5 million full and part-time workers are union members, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Friday. Union membership dropped 1.2 percent among federal workers from the previous year.

Scott Walker dropped that number even further in 2012. The real question I want posed to Mitt Romney will you revoke EO 10988? If not, why not?

Personally we at The Handbook believe that the public unions can never be brought to a level where they will look at budgets with a realistic outlook in their demands and expectations until they are removed completely from the picture.

If 401(k) and IRA's are good enough for everyone else they are perfectly fine for your government employees. Why should any company, government included, continue to pay you after you are no longer a productive member of that entity?

In the interest of disclosure I am technically a federal employee as I am a member of the US Armed Forces. Just so there is no question I would be willing to sit down and look at the retirement packages offered to members of the military and look at other options with anyone who wants to.

2/3 of people don't want Obamacare

The surprising part about this for me is that it is from the NYT/CBS poll. According to them 41% want the entire bill struck down, and 27% want just the mandate removed.

Since NYT/CBS came up with 68% who want at least some this law removed and only 24% that want to keep it in tact completely. Let's see computing NYT margin of bias in personal beliefs (calculator out) and I would assume that number of people who want to get rid of it in some fashion is closer to 75%. 8% of people polled wouldn't answer. I'm assuming that's the group that didn't understand what was going on or still believed that FDR was President and didn't know who this Obama whipper snapper was.

Now that being said. I don't personally know how much SCOTUS actually gives a damn what you and me think.

So after I saw the post on Hot Air, I was curious just how much the NYT was promoting this little bit of  news on their website.

Front page? Ha not there. Political section about half way down and not exactly in the boldest of prints. I understand this is different than the actual paper itself where the front page headline is the biggest headline. But this is like being buried on page 27 right behind the coupons. Not that I expect anything less from them. Now had this poll went the other way. Front page and probably had the entire homepage dedicated to it.

Although according to the NYT WI is in the toss up category come Nov and Obama is only 11 Electoral votes ahead. 217-206.

Pension reform in.......... California???

Yep you read that right. San Diego and San Jose both voted to curb public employee pension plans. With San Diego voting 66% in favor and San Jose voting at 70% there is no mistaking that the people have caught a fever and only reducing union costs can cure it.

The unions o\f course used the same arguments that it is unfair to the people that have paid into the plan and now get less in retirement. In a way I can see that argument then common sense pops into my head and i realize that if they hadn't b een so greedy in the f\irst place they wouldn't have the current problems with the bill that passed.

Now that the unions were dealt two more losses on top of\ the massive beat downs they took last night in WI, any chance they stop being the problem and start working with the real adults to become part of\ the solution?

Yeah I didn't think so either.

Quick question though any chance CA becomes the next state to take on union thugs?  Yeah me either.

Read what Hot Air has to say ab out it.

Scott Walker lays the smack down!!

This post is taking a small bit of time to write, unfortunately my 2 year old decided to knock my beer on my laptop. So I'm writing this with a combination of my actual keyboard and the catastrophe that is the on screen keyboard. I say this so if there are more typos than normal you'll know why.

Now on to the good stuff.

Last night was suppose to be the night that Libs put all those pesky conservatives in there place. So imagine my surprise to wake up today to find out that Walker not only won. He kicked wimpy liberal ass all over the state. His statement after the results showed just how much Walker completely understands what voters are after.

“They [the voters] said loudly, not just in Wisconsin, but across the country, ‘If you do the right thing, if you make the tough choices, voters will stand with you.’”

Of course Obama believes a message was sent to Walker and those union hating conservatives. I'm not completely sure what that message is but I for one hope that its the same message that they use in November.

Syria wants to be lonely

Was watching the news and heard this on Fox News.

After some western countries removed Syrian ambassadors last week in response to the Houla massacre, Syria has decided to respond by kicking returning the favor.

Some countries have informed our diplomatic missions and our embassies' staff that they are unwelcome," Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Makdessi said in a statement.
He said Damascus has decided to take a "reciprocal measure" against ambassadors from the U.S., Britain, Turkey, Switzerland, France, Italy and Spain. A number of French, German, Canadian, Bulgarian and Belgian diplomats also are affected, Makdessi said.

From what I can tell all the Ambassadors were gone already anyway. So now it's more of a formality that we aren't allowed to come back.

The White House has said that there is no chance of a military option without complete support of the UN. Also the Chinese and the Russians are coming up with a plan. I'm sure that everything in that plan will be to promote democracy and basic human rights and freedoms.

Its that time in WI today. Updated: DOJ to monitor

Well it's here. The recall that is but isn't the referendum on Barack Obama and the Union thuggery that has encompassed his campaign. At the end of today hopefully we have good news to share. But as Erick Erickson posted up this morning you just never know.

Dems have made a living of stealing elections. With the knowledge that Mickey Mouse and Hitler were allowed to sign the recall petition to get this whole thing going with no one questioning it, well should we really be surprised if we find out there is a little hankey going on in WI today?

Barret says that he is confident he will win. Scott Walker says the same thing. Hot Air has a post up that Walker has a 95% chance of winning today. Frankly words like that scare us here at The Handbook.

Our hopes and dreams crushed too many times by elections we thought we had, or politicians that told us they were with us and stabbed us in the back as soon as they could.

Updates once results start coming in.

Update: Well this can be nothing but good news. The DOJ has decided to descend upon  WI and ensure that the election is fair and nothing is out of the ordinary. Which probably means that the Black Panthers will be outside of the polling places with batons.
Not that the DOJ is biased or anything like that.

No more Federal funding of Nominating Conventions

From The Hill.

At least that's what is going to happen if Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Mark Udall (D-CO) get passage of the bill they are sponsoring.

"Voluntarily returning convention funds would be a great act of leadership and statesmanship for both parties. Nevertheless, it’s time for Congress to act and end the practice of subsidizing annual convention parties with taxpayer dollars," Coburn said in a statement on Monday.

If it passes the 36.6 million that would go to the conventions every 4 years will instead be returned to the treasury to pay down the debt. Before we all get excited lets realize just how little this will take away from our 15 trillion dollar debt.

So this is what Congress does to make you think they care or have changed. 36 million over 4 years. Just like that (get out calculator) and we are looking at 9 million a year. That works out to just right around .000006% of our debt being paid each year with this. Well there we go. Finally the Tea Party can lay down and relax. The adults in the room have finally fixed the problem.

Excuse me but its complete crap. Don't get me wrong I'm glad we no longer have to pay for the conventions but lets be honest 1) 9 million isn't gonna make any kind of dent in the debt. 2) Why were we ever funding these things to begin with?

Wisconsin Recall Tommorrow

If any of you are in Wisconsin or just interested in knowing, tomorrow is the recall election for Scott Walker. Never mind that this farce of an election has wasted untold millions of dollars at a time when most states and counties can't afford their budgets as it is.

Most of the polls currently show Walker with a lead and what appears to be a victory tomorrow. However nothing is certain until the end of the vote counting.

I find it interesting that Obama has decided not to be involved with this particular recall. Especially once it started showing that all of the reforms instituted by Walker actually started to make improvements. That probably pissed the unions off even more. Once all of the National parts of the Democratic party realized it was probably going to be a losing effort they pretty much  started lowering expectations. Once DWS came out and claimed that the recall was not a referendum on Obama that pretty much told everyone what was expected to happen tomorrow.

Always remember every election has consequences some just have more than others.

Zimmerman back in jail.

That's right the man who killed Trayvon Martin, the 17 yr old supposed angel, had been free on a$150,000 bond. That means that he had to come up with 15 grand to get himself out. Not a small sum of money. However it apparently wasn't enough to satisfy the judge.

Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. has required that Zimmerman turn himself back in because the judge says that Zimmerman had access to over $100,000.  The part that really bothered the judge from what I can tell is that the wife and Zimmerman said they were broke under oath.

Now there is some money that has come in in the forms of donations for his legal defense fund. I don't know if this is that money or if this money the judge is talking about is money they previously had. Either way I don't see enough reason to make the guy come back to jail over it. He's already paid a legally set bond and obviously isn't trying to flee. Hide yes, flee no.

So I have to admit, my first thought was that this judge was a liberal hippie that bought into the Al Sharpton crap and did it to appease that group of people. After looking at a quick rundown of his record that I found here from the leftest view. From that article it seems that most of his reversals were for allowing the prosecution a bit too much leeway in the eyes of appeals courts. Of course like I said that is from the leftist view.

He is from Chicago though, went to school at UCF, and law school at UF.

Overall I don't know if he's a good judge or not. I just wonder why he wants to change the bail now.

Welcome Back to the Handbook

So I went away for a little while. To the three of you that read this, well thanks for sticking around. I came back and had just one thought. This country has lost its collective frickin mind.

I see Mittens basically has the nomination wrapped up. Great! Of all the people running this is the guy we choose? Wow we are dumb. Let's just hope he doesn't screw it up.

Of course he couldn't have an easier opponent to defeat. Well at least it's an easy opponent with people who have actually been paying attention. The rest of em well, lets just hope most of them stay home in Nov.

I also see that Bambi is missing the civility of the '08 election. Moe Lane at Redstate pretty much summed that one up nicely so just read his and tell me you don't agree.

Lets see Patterico has been SWATTED by a convicted bomber. Eric Erickson,  Aaron Walker and others have had the same done to them. Luckily for Eric he had notified his local police that something like this might happen. Aaron has been fired from his job and forced to move. Nope nothing wrong with that. Exactly what you would think would happen to someone who was exercising their first amendment right in the USSR. Wait, what was that? You said we're in the USA? Oh well then I'm sure the ACLU is rushing to his defense right? Oh still no? Hmm...
Not surprisingly Fox News is the only one that I can find picking up the story.

In other news the DOJ still doesn't like you.

We still have no jobs in this country. I'm sure that statement surprises all of you. But no really it's true. Our ability to create jobs sucks. At least that's what the Jobs Report keeps saying.

One last thing. Obama isn't even above 50% against Romney in CA. Obama is going to win CA, no one doubts that. But he Romney can keep it close and make him spend money there who know what can happen in states that can be flipped like FL, VA, OH, and maybe PA.

Once again sorry I was gone for so long. My goal is to at least put something up a little more frequent that every 3 months.

Shocking Iran wants us out of the Gulf

Reading Fox News today. I found out that the Iranian head of the Army went out publicly and said that the US should not bring the USS John C Stennis back into the Persian Gulf. He never went into detail as to why but I think we can all see what this is.
